Live In the Moment

And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less” (Elder Ballard’s talk May, 2008 quote by Author Anna Quindlen speaking of her children)

- I put this on here to remind me to take time to enjoy the little things in life, or to enjoy the moments that make some of Life's Precious Memories.

Decorating for Halloween

October 1st, it's time to decorate for Halloween. That's the tradition I have since being married, I'm not sure what my Mom does. I definitely know that she decorates for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving (we might have been able to talk her into decorating the day of Thanksgiving since nobody was coming to our house for Thanksgiving dinner). Of Course, Nathan wants to decorate a week before Thanksgiving. So we compromise. We decorate after my last piano lesson before Thanksgiving (I allowed that one, because usually we are visiting family during Thanksgiving Break.) Nobody else will see it but us, unless something odd happens because I won't invite friends over to play until after Thanksgiving at that point. But, with that all said, everyone knows, so if I invite you over, expect Christmas decorations up very early.

That all being said...I started decorating and Emily found her Trick-or-Treat bag and a Halloween ducky that my Mom gave her last Halloween (Emily still really loves duckies and fishies). Those items and her are currently inseparable. It's very cute. We've got Meredith's bag waiting for her for when she wakes up.
