Live In the Moment

And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less” (Elder Ballard’s talk May, 2008 quote by Author Anna Quindlen speaking of her children)

- I put this on here to remind me to take time to enjoy the little things in life, or to enjoy the moments that make some of Life's Precious Memories.

Rebecca

Rebecca was born on June 30 at 6:15pm. She was 10lb 3oz. (It was quite the surprise.) Already she is a champion nurser and a very laid back, happy baby. She hardly cried when she was born. She has a LOT of hair. All of those cute little hair bands I have...I don't really need them. :)

Rebecca, just after she was born. My mom was the photographer with her camera, so I should have some better pictures after I get them from her. (As well as pics of Meredith's b-day.)
We got to the hospital at 6:30 only to find that the doctor on call that day was the doctor who really wanted me to have a c-section. (Yes, I was nervous.) We waited for the nurse midwife to finish with a birth at the birth center to get the pitocin. They started me on that at 10 or so. I made it without pain medication till I was dilated to an 8 and couldn't keep up with my breathing. The pit was cranked to 14. Once I got the epidural it was an hour till Rebecca was born. It was a fabulous epidural, best I've had. I had to have a stronger dose. I had both Nathan and my Mom there to help me. They were wonderful. I loved my CNM and the L&D nurse. The CNM that delivered the baby really fought hard for me to make sure I could have the birthing experience I wanted. I think she's just wonderful.

Rebecca is a beautiful little chunk! I can't believe you pushed out 10 lbs of baby! I think she has cute cheeks that remind me of Meredith.
