Live In the Moment

And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less” (Elder Ballard’s talk May, 2008 quote by Author Anna Quindlen speaking of her children)

- I put this on here to remind me to take time to enjoy the little things in life, or to enjoy the moments that make some of Life's Precious Memories.

Preschool

Today Emily and I went for a preschool screening. So now, Emily will be going to preschool to help her talk to us. I'm excited for her and I want to hear her talk and hear what she's thinking about, but I'm so SAD to have my little girl leave me for preschool. It's only for 2 hours 4 days a week though, so "I CAN do it". They will even pick her up in a bus. It's just a preschool bus, with the driver and a teacher. It's safe, and Emily would LOVE to ride in the bus. I just don't know if I can do that too.

I asked if we would have to re-evaluate her later to see if she can stay in or not. They said only if I want to. So she can go to preschool up until kindergarten. I also don't think the preschool will be running during the summertime, so this should be a nice transition for us. We'll try it for a few months, and then I won't have to take her for the summer. Hopefully the speech therapist can give me some good tips to help Emily over the summertime and at home all the time.

In the meantime, WE'RE STARTING SCHOOL! AAAaaahhh!!!

But this is best for Emily, so here we go.

Jennifer,
I understand. They seem so very young to go to school. I just want you to know that Kate has really taken to it and the school has really inspired her imagination and desire to learn. You can do it! Besides you can always choose to put her until kindergarten or let her go and see how it helps her speech and then decide how long later. I know she will do great.
