Live In the Moment

And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less” (Elder Ballard’s talk May, 2008 quote by Author Anna Quindlen speaking of her children)

- I put this on here to remind me to take time to enjoy the little things in life, or to enjoy the moments that make some of Life's Precious Memories.

Playing with the Girls

Yesterday I dropped Nathan off at the UofA, went to the property management office to take care of rent, and then took the girls to the park. You can imagine in Tucson that it gets hot fast and then when Emily ceases to listen (not that she minds really well in the first place) we had to leave. So we came home and they took their naps (I don't think Emily went to sleep and I think she woke up Meredith). Then I took them swimming. Just me. I wasn't sure how I was going to do that, but I wanted to go play. It turned out well. Emily wanted to play on the stairs and Meredith and I stayed close and played together. I love to hear her laugh and to make her laugh. I love to hold her too, and being in the pool is a wonderful excuse. She doesn't let me hold her too much anymore. She wants to go explore and walk around and chase after sister. We were swimming for about 40 min before they got tired of it. That's pretty impressive for two very wiggly little girls. I wouldn't let them run around the pool (can't imagine why) and they had to stay close. We were exhausted though. The girls were ready to go to bed very early. I should have followed their example, but I stayed up late watching a movie with Nathan instead. (And now that it is morning I'm payin the price). :)

I guess it would have been hard to watch two kids and take a picture of the three of you at the same time. I would have loved to see pictures of you with them in the pool though. Have Nate take a picture of you three sometime.
