Live In the Moment

And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less” (Elder Ballard’s talk May, 2008 quote by Author Anna Quindlen speaking of her children)

- I put this on here to remind me to take time to enjoy the little things in life, or to enjoy the moments that make some of Life's Precious Memories.

First Tooth Gone

On August 29th Emily lost her first tooth. She started complaining a couple days before that her tooth was hurting her when she was chewing her food. I asked her if she could wiggle her tooth and she said YES! We were telling her that when she lost her tooth she was to put it under her pillow so the tooth fairy would come. She promptly told us she didn't believe in tooth fairies, I have no idea where she got that. So, Daddy told her to write a letter to the tooth fairy. This is what she came up with.

When she was climbing in the car on Wednesday she was excited that she had lost her tooth while eating her lunch. The school gave her a little treasure box to put her tooth in and this is her just before she went to bed.

And when she woke up, she did find her tooth replaced with something good under her pillow after all.

Rebecca's 2nd Birthday

Presents before Breakfast.

#2 Waffle
Nathan makes the comment that we have more pictures of them with dirty faces than with clean. I will admit that I enjoy getting pictures of the messy faces but that his statement IS a bit of an exaggeration.
Birthday Cupcake.

A School Bus toy so we may better sing her favorite song, "The Wheels on the Bus".

Rebecca and the Present

I love how animated her facial expressions are. I can just see those little wheels spinning in her head.

The funny part about these first pictures is that she was so hesitant to open this present. I had just finished telling her NOT to open presents and then Aunt Jessica brought over Grandma's present that she wanted Rebecca to open right then so she could take pictures back to Grandma. Poor Rebecca seemed confused over why it was alright to open a present now.

Thinking about opening the present.

Are you sure I can open this present? I don't want to get in trouble.

She's decided it's ok.

Um...a little help here. I can't get it out.

Got it.

With no help at all the baby doll slipped right out of the box. Nice...no stupid twisties keeping it in.

She loves it.

Getting a good look at her dolly.

Do you see this face? This face is wearing the expression of a 3rd child who understands the rules of possession. DON'T let go. She also is well aquainted with the word "MINE"

Feeding the baby.

Such a good little Mommy.

And she carried around her little baby doll EVERYWHERE!

Meredith's Birthday

These are pictures from Meredith's 5th Birthday. We actually had a party for Meredith at Grandma's house but I don't have those pictures yet. So, this was just half of her celebration.

Birthday Morning Presents

 The "5" Waffle

That evening Meredith and I went out to buy her a new dress with the Birthday money she received. She ended up buying a dress that came with a doll dress as well and a glove and ball. We loved the time we were able to spend just the two of us as well.

Nathan Gets the Girls Ready for Church

Nathan took this picture a couple months ago proving that he can get the girls ready for church all by himself while Mommy was at a meeting. :)

Kristina's Blessing

We blessed Kristina a few weeks ago and were blessed to have many of our loved ones with us. I'm so grateful for family. Kristina has had a rough start with RSV and another cold that made her quite miserable and I was beginning to think we had ourselves a grumpy baby. But, she is a very good, sweet baby. She's learning some definite preferences though. She does NOT like to have clothes lifted over her head and she loves her Mommy. She tolerates other people...if she has to...and sometimes she just completely refuses to not be held by Mommy. Like today in church. She did NOT want Daddy and she was very vocal about it. Nathan had to take her outside! No worries, I saved her. Sorry, Daddy. I even had another lady in our ward try to hold her, nope, nada, she wouldn't go for it. I think it is incredibly adorable.

Me with my baby girl. She's so precious.
Things around here are getting a little smoother. We've getting a better schedule going so I can enjoy a clean house, some homemade meals and my children at the same time. We have our good days and our bad days, but we are getting more of the "good" days around here so that's Great!

Terrible Twos

And so it begins...our Rebecca has learned the joys of the Terrible Twos. Such a handful and so incredibly cute to boot. She's keeping me on my toes and we just adore her.
