Live In the Moment

And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less” (Elder Ballard’s talk May, 2008 quote by Author Anna Quindlen speaking of her children)

- I put this on here to remind me to take time to enjoy the little things in life, or to enjoy the moments that make some of Life's Precious Memories.

My Talker

Meredith is quite my little talker. Tonight Emily was being difficult and Meredith asked her, "What do you need?" Meredith also asks me to sing certain songs. She says "Beam" for "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam", "Walking" for "I Often Go Walking" (a Mother's Day Song we sing as a lullaby) and "God" for "I Am a Child of God" and "Birthday" (this one she gets from Emily because Emily is always asking me to sing all of the Birthday songs in the Primary Hymnbook. And I do mean ALL of them. Emily is completely fascinated with Birthdays. I had a board covered in a plain color of wrapping paper for my piano students' game that I play with them and she upwrapped it. She thought it was a gift or something.)

Meredith says "diaper change" to me all the time. It's not because she really needs a diaper change. She LOVES to play with the buckle on the diaper changing table. She just discovered it was there. I don't use it because I've never really needed it (no worries, my children are safe, I don't just leave them there). This afternoon I was putting her down for a nap and she asked me for a diaper change, after I was done she said "diaper change" again. Haha. I don't think so.
