Live In the Moment

And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less” (Elder Ballard’s talk May, 2008 quote by Author Anna Quindlen speaking of her children)

- I put this on here to remind me to take time to enjoy the little things in life, or to enjoy the moments that make some of Life's Precious Memories.

Rolling

Two days ago Rebecca rolled over for the first time.

The girls and I play with Rebecca on the floor and then eventually when it starts to quiet down, she falls asleep. Right there on the floor and just takes her nap. She really is the best little baby.

A Hiking We Will Go

We went off into the mountains to join the Ward Campout for the last part of it. Well, the map said 21 miles, we went 24 and I decided I must have written down the instructions incorrectly. So, we stopped and had a little hike of our own.

Before the hike.
Rebecca's first hike. As short as it was.
No, I don't wear makeup in the woods.
Nathan hiking with Meredith.
Emily was getting too far ahead, so I asked her to stop. She wasn't exactly thrilled about that now was she.
Afterwards we decided to go just a little further. 1/2 a mile later, there was the turn to the ward campout. (Note for next years campout. Please go 24.5 miles or so.)

3 Months

Rebecca is such a sweet addition to our family. We just love her. She's getting used to the kisses that mother keeps showering her with. And one of these smiles can bring mom out of a bad mood faster than anything.

Her curious face. Oooh I could just kiss those cheeks. :) And I do!
Happy face. But Mommy knows that meal time and nap time are near.
Rebecca decides she's hungry.

And that is the end of our photo shoot. :)

Entertaining the Baby

The girls asked me to dance. So they put on their dresses, I turn on "Carnival of the Animals" and the girls dance for the baby. Oh, I love having some entertainment for the baby.

Then the music turned off. Rebecca still liked having them to look at.

Yesterday I told Rebecca, "hey bubs."
Emily: She's not a "bubs" she's a baby.
Me: She is a baby.
Emily: Yah. She's a "Pumpkin"
Meredith: Yah. She looks like a "Pumpkin"
Emily: "Hey bubs."
I guess I do call her "Pumpkin" alot.

A Coat?

Who would wear a coat when it is 100 degrees outside?
Miss Meredith, I love you.
Even if my kitchen looks like a wreck from you helping yourself.
Or the fact that you love to pull everything out of the drawers and get out ALL of the toys.
Or even if you help yourself to all of the band-aids and the living room is strewn with books.
All of this you do in seconds flat. It tries my patience, but I think it's worth it.
*To the person or peoples reading this. No, I will NOT post the pictures of my home right now.

After Meredith ditched the coat, Emily tucked it around Rebecca. She really loves the baby. All babies really. But especially "her" baby.
My sweet, beautiful baby.

Discovering Her Tongue

Rebecca in her adorable 3-6 month outfit. Babies should stay smaller longer!
Discovering her tongue. It's so sweet.
And I must say, the cutest little tongue. :)

2-Months Old

I realized just before putting Rebecca down that I had yet to take a picture on the 2-month mark. Any picture was going to do at that point. You can tell she is sleepy and ready to fall asleep at any moment. She's a great little sleeper and has been fairly reliable about her bedtime between 6:30 and 7. Rebecca wakes up once in the night for a snack, wakes up at 6:30 and then she's up for the day and ready to play at 8:30
